The Intermediate course is the option for the paddler want to achieve a solid foundation of personal skills and knowledge that all competent paddler should have to be safe at sea.
The upper-intermediatecourse is the course to achieve that solid foundation of personal skills and knowledge you should have to keep you safe at sea when conditions change and become more challenging. Moderate to advance conditions.
The introRocks course is the option for the paddler want to achieve a solid foundation of personal skills and knowledge that all competent paddler should have to be safe at sea in a rocky environment.
Intro doesn’t mean introduction to sea kayak.
The leadership course is the option for those who want to end up
developing the role of group leader. You will learn what you need to know to understand, plan and develop a safe day at sea.
There is no leadership assessment running during the winter camp.
We test your skills, confidence and environmental understanding in order to assist you to make the right decisions when paddling in the appropriate environment.
We will have the chance to really get to know you over the five days, and coach you towards your potential. We will be able to install a clearer understanding of sea kayaking skills and safety and help you build your confidence. During the 5 days we will break down into a separate but progressive learning experience with a goal of developing not only your personal skills but also your all-round seamanship according to the weather.
We will plan 5 day sessions in a progressive manner, making the most of the weather conditions. Based on the instructor’s observations and your needs, we will draw up your work plan. Each session can consist of different workshops. We aim to plan trips together, which enable you to explore large sections of the Costa Brava coast. Costa Brava has spectacular scenery including dramatic headlands, caves and arches.
Course content will include:
Personal skills, rescues and recoveries, Navigation and planning.
We will work with you on your personals to help build your confidence in conditions.
This course allows more time to look in depth at weather information, tides and the planning process allowing you a more complete base from which to build your experience and knowledge towards becoming a valuable paddler and decision maker.
The Costa Brava winter camp takes place in the Mediterranean and the conditions depend a lot on the wind and the swell. Every day there will be specific workshops according to the sea level and the students.
The team of instructors will develop a plan according to the level and the conditions of each day.
If the conditions during the week are right and you are interested at the end of the week the instructor can give you appropriate feedback and even see if you have achieved a certain level of skill.
Our instructors are qualified to award Sea kayak award, Costal sea kayak award de Paddle UK and three and four dragons of SKUK levels.
Calm Waters, Intermediate or Upper intermediate (somtimes, advance) waters Paddling around some of the most stunning coastline Spain has to offer, we hope to show you just what paddling Costa Brava means to us.
This exploration week consists of five individual day trips while enjoying the comfort of a “base camp” environment of your choice.
We will meet each morning where we will consider what the weather allows us to do and decide the best options to get out and explore the Costa Brava. The options are many and varied along the Coast depending of the winds.
